Retail & E-commerce Logistics
Speed, Accuracy, Compliance

E-commerce and retail logistics — Amazon FBA prep, warehouse fulfillment, and fast delivery. Full supply chain support by Suaid Global.

Overview

E-commerce doesn't tolerate delays or errors

Retail and e-commerce move at record speed. Order defects trigger buyer disputes. Late drops lead to canceled orders and refunds. Multi-channel selling needs stock in sync across every channel. We build fulfillment systems for this trade. They match the speed and care your buyers expect.

Capabilities

What Suaid coordinates for this sector.

Operational details vary by commodity, market and deadline. These are the control points we keep in one freight thread.

Omnichannel Fulfillment

One warehouse feeds retail stores, online channels, and B2B partners at once. You get live stock sync and channel-specific packing.

FBA / Marketplace Prep

We prep goods to Amazon FBA, Walmart Marketplace, eBay, and other platform rules. FNSKU labels, case packing, and shipping label runs.

Returns & Reverse Logistics

Smooth returns handling, restocking, and refund tracking. We check for damage, sort each item, and win back sellable stock to cut your losses.

Seasonal Peak Scaling

Black Friday, Cyber Monday, holiday season — we scale space fast, with no long-term deals. Extra staff, more room, and longer hours when you need them.

Fulfilment

Four ways online sellers move stock, compared

Your fulfilment model decides your freight model. Pick the wrong one and you pay twice: once in freight, once in storage. Here is how the four common setups differ.

ModelHow stock movesBest whenWatch out for
Direct to marketplace (FBA)Factory → port → prep centre → Amazon warehouseYou sell high volume on one marketplaceStrict labelling and appointment rules; storage fees rise fast
Seller-fulfilled from a 3PLFactory → port → your 3PL → buyerYou sell on several channels at onceYou carry the storage cost and the stock risk
Cross-dockFactory → port → sorting hub → carrier networkStock is already sold before it landsOne late vessel breaks the whole plan
Air top-upFactory → airport → warehouse in daysA best-seller runs out mid-seasonAir costs many times more per kilo than ocean
Cost control

Costs that surprise first-time importers

The freight quote is rarely the whole bill. These line items catch new sellers most often.

  • Prep and labelling — Marketplaces reject cartons with the wrong barcode or box size. A prep centre fixes this, but it charges per carton.
  • Long-term storage — Warehouses charge more per cubic metre the longer stock sits. Slow sellers can cost more to store than to ship.
  • Returns handling — Online return rates run high in apparel and electronics. Someone has to inspect, repack, and restock each item.
  • Peak season surcharges — Carriers add surcharges when space is tight. Book earlier and the surcharge is smaller or gone.
  • Chargebacks — Miss a delivery window or a labelling rule and the marketplace bills you. These fees add up quietly.
  • Duty on the landed value — Duty is charged on the goods, not on what you sell them for. Use the tariff simulator before you price a product.
Planning

The e-commerce shipping calendar

Online retail runs on a fixed rhythm. Plan bookings around it and you avoid the worst rates.

PeriodWhat happensWhat to do
January to MarchFactories close for Lunar New Year in much of AsiaShip before the shutdown or wait out the restart backlog
April to JulyRates are usually calmestRestock slow movers and test new products
August to OctoberEveryone books for the holiday season at onceBook space early; this is when surcharges bite

Landed cost

Building a landed cost you can price against

Sellers who price off the factory invoice alone lose margin quietly. Landed cost is the only number that tells you whether a product works.

  • Goods value — The invoice from the factory, before anything moves. This is the smallest part of the number.
  • Freight to port and main leg — Split these two. Inland cost at origin varies far more than the ocean leg.
  • Duty and import taxes — Charged on the customs value, which usually includes freight and insurance.
  • Port and terminal charges — Handling, documentation, and release fees appear at both ends of the journey.
  • Prep, storage, and fulfilment — Per-carton and per-unit fees that scale with how long stock sits.
  • Returns and write-offs — Build an honest percentage in. A product that looks profitable at zero returns often is not.
Risk Control

Key Challenges in Retail & E-commerce Logistics

The work is not only moving cargo. It is removing the failure points that create holds, penalties and missed receiving windows.

Multi-Channel Inventory Sync

Selling on Amazon, your own DTC site, and retail stores at once takes tight stock sync. A stock-out on one channel, while another sits full, wipes out margins and buyer trust.

Returns Management at Scale

E-commerce returns run 20-30% of orders on average. Reverse logistics, grading, restocking, and refunds must move fast and stay right. This saves product value and protects your platform scores.

Marketplace Compliance Rules

Amazon FBA, Walmart DSV, and Target+ each set strict rules for labels, packing, and shipping. Break the rules and you risk chargebacks, paused listings, and refused drops.

Seasonal Demand Spikes

Q4 volumes can triple in weeks. Without stock staged ahead and site space that can flex, you risk stockouts. Slow fulfillment tanks your seller rank and holiday sales.
